Hitori Bocchi

Hitori Bocchi is a middle school student who struggles with extreme social anxiety and communication difficulties. She is incredibly shy and finds it hard to make friends or engage in conversations with her classmates. Despite her challenges, she possesses a kind heart and a strong desire to overcome her fears to fulfill a promise she made to her childhood friend.

Her personality is marked by her timid and introverted nature, often leading to comedic yet endearing moments as she navigates her school life. She is determined, however, showing a remarkable level of perseverance and creativity in her attempts to make new friends, which highlights her growth and resilience.

At the beginning, Hitori Bocchi is tasked with a daunting challenge by her childhood friend: to befriend all of her classmates in her new middle school class. This sets her on a journey of personal growth, facing her fears head-on in various, often humorous, attempts to connect with others and build lasting friendships.
